Craftmen at the Blue Grass Cooperage in Louisville, Kentucky, make more than 275,000 barrels annually exclusively for Jack Daniel Distillery. The perfect barrel is a crucial ingredient in producing great whiskey. While aging in the barrel, Jack Daniel's® Tennessee Whiskey acquires unique flavour and colour. Each barrel is hand finished from 31 wooden staves, six metal hoops and two wooden heads.
The Blue Grass Cooperage has been making white-oak barrels for Jack Daniel's® since 1956. That's the same year that Mack Trucks, Inc, introduced the 1956 MACK® B Model truck, a versatile vehicle that was ideal for delivering just about any product, including whiskey. This rugged vehicle was very popular because of the rugged dependability built into every MACK® B Model truck. And now, these two great American names - Jack Daniel's® and Mack - come together in a die-cast model of a vehicle that used to make deliveries in and around Lynchburg, Tennessee, home to Jack Daniel Distillery since its birth.
Precision-engineered to capture the authentic detailing of the MACK® B Model truck, this die-cast model is decorated with graphics from the Jack daniel Distillery archives. The 12 barrels in the bed are hand painted to depict the stamping that goes on the barrels of Jack Daniel's® Tennessee Whiskey. Crafted with diamond plate front bumper and running boards, mudflaps bearing the Jack Daniel "NO.1" graphic and the boards that were used to roll barrels off the truck, your Jack Daniel's® Delivery Truck has been produced by - and is available only from - Matchbox Collectibles.
